OROP - CALCULATE YOUR ARREARS

Dear Fellow Veterans,

We welcome you to our blog site which contains over 2500 pages worth of information every Veteran needs on multiple titles to manage ourselves during our Retirement.

Wave been trying to bring out innovative ideas for the benefit of the veterans through this blog site. We have already given a without tears solution to calculate arrears during 5th and 6th CPC periods in our blog.

The OROP has been announced by the Govt and the same is going to be soon

implemented despite the agitation which may however continue to enhance the benefits.

Let us see what we will get as arrears once the Pension Tables are made public by the MOD and PCDA(P) issues their usual circular to the PDAs.

Once the Tables are available please check your relevant row and column for your Rank and Number of years of completed service and note down the pension figure given there. Deduct from this your present basic pension as given in Circular Number 500 for officers and 501 for PBORs. Note this difference.

Use the Math Wizard Constant of "38.34" to multiply the difference with it and you will get the arrears that will be due up to 31 Dec 2015.

We will value your remarks and feed back on any issue hosted in our blog immensely.

Please do pen your views either under comments to this post or put your feed back in our guest book.  CLICK HERE TO OPEN THE GUEST BOOK.
Sincerely yours,
Brig Narinder Dhand

  1. My dear Narinder, Any thing about Lt Cols (SG) for getting Col's/ Col(TS) pension as was put up in GDL and Koshiyari Committee as most of them have commanded units.

  2. Dear Col Attal

Unfortunately there is nothing on card presently .

However there has been a case for later retirees in IAF where Wg Cdr’s who retired after 26 Yrs of commissioned service to get Gp Capt’s pension. You know that these days there is time scale promotion at this stage of 26 yrs.

  3. Prior to 1996, Major was a time scale promotion after 13 years service, subject to passing Promotion Examination Part 'D'. Those Majors who did NOT make to Lt Col (SG) became Time Scale Lt Col after 26 years service.
Now LT Col (TS) has been given pension of Col(TS) but Lt Col (S) has been ignored. The result is that Majors those who did not make Lt Col (S) and made Lt Col (TS) get the pension of Col (TS) while Lt Col (S) remains ignored. So! what was that Selection Gde good for?
Accordingly Pension Tables had two Columns Lt Col (S) and Lt Col (TS). These two columns have vanished in the new Tables.
After abolition of the parent rank of 2/Lieut, and equivalent, i.e degradation of ranks by one layer functionally, Majors having completed 21 years service will get pension of Lt Col. Lt Col (TS) will get pension of Col on 26 years service but Lt Col (S) will draw pension of Major deemed equated to Lt Col.
Surely ! the chiefs must be aware of this. If NOT can some one educate them on their consent for this situation?
